John Hall is the Dean of Westminster Abbey. In 2011 he officiated at the wedding of Prince William of Wales and Catherine Middleton. Raised in south London, Hall studied at St. Dunstan's College, Catford and St. Chad's College, University of Durham. He studied for ordination in the Church of England at Cuddesdon Theological College, Oxford. He became the Dean of Westminster in 2006 and a trustee of the King James Bible Trust in 2007. A former teacher, Hall served as the Church of England's chief education officer, overseeing the Church's education policy and strategy. He writes and speaks regularly about educational matters and currently chairs the governors of the Westminster Abbey Choir School and Westminster School.
