Robert Caro is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and journalist best known for writing political biographies. His books include "The Power Broker: Robert Moses and the Fall of New York" (1974) and a planned five-volume biography of Lyndon B. Johnson, "The Years of Lyndon Johnson." The fourth volume, "The Passage of Power" (2012) covers LBJ's transition from Senate Majority Leader to vice president to his swearing-in as president following John F. Kennedy's assassination. A native of New York City, Caro studied English at Princeton University and spent six years as an investigative reporter for Newsday. He has received two Pulitzer Prizes, two National Book Critics Circle Awards, the National Humanities Medal and the National Book Award. He lives in New York City with his wife, Ina, a fellow writer and historian.
